Recap of all things LENZ Sports in the month of September
It’s that time of year! Football and playoff baseball, you can’t beat it. Just so our stance is clear… Go Phils! Go Birds!
We had a tremendous month of September at LENZ Sports, but before we get into it, our founders have some industry thoughts to share on the topic of pricing for youth sports events:
“As the fall season rolls along, there is a race amongst the tournaments & events companies to see who can get their 2026 Tournament Dates out to the public first. With that, as there has been for the past 5 years, comes a price increase on each event. What I fear about the current state of these event prices is that the companies are basing their pricing off of "Cost Per Team" & also how they fit into comparison to their competitor tournament.
Something we always take into account with our own pricing, and I challenge other event operators to do this as well, is we make all of our pricing with the idea of "Cost per Family". These events hike prices over $1K per team, and then want to charge gate fees/parking/hotels and wonder why there is pushback. Take into account the cost per family, and realize that once these prices get too high, and then you start seeing as decline in merchandise and concession sales, you are simply robbing Peter to pay Paul.”

This September, LENZ Events turned one year old! In true LENZ fashion, we celebrated with a PACKED party. Our 2nd annual Suburban Showdown event had more than 70 teams participating, making it the largest 6-division youth baseball event in the country that weekend. We are so beyond grateful for the trust in our events to be an excellent youth baseball experience.

Our custom sports gear process is starting to become a hit with our top brand partners New Balance, Rawlings/Easton, Pioneer Fit, and Augusta Sportswear. We’ve been fulfilling requests for team stores, custom uniform orders, and team apparel. We truly enjoy handling the entire process for teams, making the lives of coaches and team administrators easier.
Gavin Grande, Director of Baseball Operations, has been doing a tremendous job with the custom sports gear side of our company. Feel free to reach out to him with any questions or requests: [email protected]
We have a lot coming up in October. Our 2nd annual Malice In The Mainline event has another 70 teams participating! That will close out the 2025 LENZ Baseball Events season.
However, part of the LENZ licensing portfolio, the Tri-County Premier League tournament (10/24 - 10/26) will be the ultimate closer for the month of October and 2025 fall season.
Lastly, stay tuned as LENZ Sports will be transitioning to a brand new website! Combining everything we have to offer for youth sports in one place.
We can’t wait for all the exciting things we have going on in October, working our hardest to enhance and unify the youth sports experience.
Thank you,
Mike Palumbo & Matt Wray - Co-Founders, LENZ Sports
